SUNDAY SCHOOL
ENCOURAGERS
We may retire from work, but we never retire from the work of the Lord. This senior adult ministry gives its members the opportunity to continue to grow in their faith and demonstrate the wisdom they have achieved through experience. Bro. Joe Henderson, an ordained minister and tremendous student of the Word, teaches this class. We believe our older Christians should be held in high esteem and should also be great examples to our younger adults in faithfulness and dedication to our Lord. We cherish our older saints at South Side.
PEACE MAKERS
This class ministers to our adults who are settled in their careers and need a respite from hectic and fast paced lifestyles. Pastor John Denson leads this class. He teaches in-depth Bible studies. Our goal for this age is to admonish class members to grow and flourish in their spiritual walk as they lead their families to serve actively in the church and to live a life that might draw others to Christ. The Peace Makers plan monthly fellowships.
PACE SETTERS
This young adult ministry is designed to strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ while also strengthening the bonds of marriage. Bro. Bill Blevins, a strong family man who is well-versed in the Word of God, leads this class with great enthusiasm encouraging his students to stand fast in Christ's principles as an individual, as a mate, as a parent, and as a servant in the church. This class offers a wide variety of family recreation and fellowship.
COLLEGE AND CAREER
This ministry is built directly around young adults involved in College or pursuing a career.
Bro. Cody Martin, our music pastor, is the director of this department. His goal is to direct and lead the next generation of church leaders in Bible principles and discipleship. If you are interested in growing spiritually and understanding God's Word more thoroughly, then this is the place for you.
YOUTH
Our youth are taught God's Word by Bro.Josh Merrell, our Associate Pastor. He is a young man with passion and excitement for reaching and discipling teens for a lifetime of service for Christ. We are serious about leading our youth to know Christ and teaching them to glorify Him through their personal walk and faithful service in His church. We believe our investment in teens is worthy of the support of our entire church family.
CHILDREN
Children are a gift from God and a precious part of the ministry of South Side. We offer classes for every age beginning at two years through sixth grade. Sherri Whitling oversees these classes and works closely with the teachers of each age. Our teachers are conscientious and dedicated to their ministry. Our children's curriculum is Bible-based and our children's spiritual well-being is at the heart of all we do. Our purpose is to teach them of Jesus and His love for them, preparing their hearts to receive Him as their Savior.
NURSERY
Every newborn is a precious reminder of God's blessings. It is a joy and privilege to tenderly care for each child brought to our nursery. Great attention is given to our nursery facility and the well-being of our babies. Our Nursery Coordinator is Donna Martin who is very detail oriented and organized. Our nursery is available during all church services.
